Born in Oklahoma, Dr. Birge was in practice in the Carrollton area for over 50 years.  He attended both the Medical College of Georgia and Emory University, receiving his MD degree from the Emory University School of Medicine in 1956.

Dr. Birge was a member of numerous professional associations and also received the Presidential Award for Volunteer Action by President Gerald Ford in 1976.  As a member of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Dr. Birge was committed to continued medical excellence and delivery of high quality medical care.

Dr. Birge was a long time Carrollton resident along with his wife, Barbara.  They have three sons, one daughter and several grandchildren.

Dr. Birge passed away in 2015.  He will be greatly missed.
